Job Description

The Outreach Coordinator of The First Tee of the Upstate will assist the Program Director in partnering with youth organizations as well as volunteer recruitment and retention. This position will oversee the Outreach Programming of the chapter; National School Program and DRIVE. This position includes serving as a lead coach during programming hours. The Outreach Coordinator will also help the Executive Director with day-to-day responsibilities in regards to donor outreach and fiscal management.

Outreach Programming
National School Program (NSP) & DRIVE Programming
Create an action plan to increase the number of schools and After-School Centers that participant in the program
Develop partnerships with YMCA, Boys & Girls Clubs, schools and other youth service organizations
Organize data for NSP & DRIVE in accordance with ZONE and chapter compliances
Market the NSP & DRIVE Programs throughout our service area
Schedule and implement National Trainings for School Districts and After-School Centers when needed
Maintain accurate records on NSP schools & DRIVE Locations, participants, equipment, and trained instructors
Track program activity, teacher/staff turn-over and ensure on-line training for new teacher/staff in NSP schools & DRIVE Locations
Work with The First Tee Home Office Staff to ensure bilateral coordination
Track NSP & DRIVE participant transition to green grass facilities
Make school, district and site visits as necessary, meeting one on one with teachers, principals and administrators
Assist schools & centers with resources for NSP & DRIVE delivery when requested
Coordinate clinic/fieldtrips for NSP teachers and principals, PTA, and other teachers & DRIVE Locations staff to Chapter locations, school campuses and the Chapter Facility (Example lead the coordination of The First Tee of the Upstate Team Challenges)
Introduce Chapter programs to give teachers/staff and students concept of chapter structure – TARGET, PLAYer, Par, Birdie, Eagle and ACE levels to familiarize schools/centers with next step opportunities for students
Recruit coaches and volunteers from teacher ranks to assist with Life Skills Experience Classes at Program Locations
Help manage logistics for transportation, course access for Outreach partners

Fairs, Festivals & Community Gatherings
Manage involvement and attend gatherings that will help promote our LSE Programming
Recruit, organize and empower volunteers and Birdie and Eagle Level Participants to attend gatherings and speak about The First Tee of the Upstate
Design marketing material for gatherings
Design marketing plans (Giveaways, 2 for 1 deals, etc.) to be given out at gatherings
Maintain the quality of displays and equipment used at gatherings (SNAG, Golfzilla, etc.)

Administrative Tasks
Answering phone calls and directing them to the appropriate staff member
Managing our relationship with 2nd Swing or Swing’em Again Club Donation Program
Processing Donation Forms
Processing Golf Passport purchases
Updating our website with material provided by other staff members
Maintain accurate records in our email and donor management systems
Any other duties that may need completing

LPGA/USGA Girls Golf Coordinator
Recruit girls to become a part of the chapter's LPGA/USGA Girls Golf Program
Increase annual registration levels, ensuring Chapter eligibility for annual grant funding
Recruit volunteers to assist with the program
Organize and empower volunteers to plan, run, and implement various events
Plan and implement various events
Partner with other girls organization to recruit new participants
Submit necessary documents to The First Tee and LPGA for reporting on programming
Submit yearly LPGA/USGA Girls Golf Grant and partner with groups such as WCGA and EWGA for volunteer and funding support

Supplemental Programs
Aid Program Director in the incorporation and promotion of play and practice opportunities throughout the chapter, outside of LSE classes (PGA Jr. League, Drive Chip & Putt)
Create and implement supplemental programs (Examples; Teenage Club, Mentoring, Nine Healthy Habits Club)

Program Management & Administration
Aid Program Director in the tracking of participants’ information and progress through The First Tee online participant database; maintain accurate records and submit quarterly
Aid in the development of retention and progression plans to move participants through the certification levels
Aid in administrating Parent & Volunteer Orientations at LSE Program Locations
Report program metrics, operations data, and pertinent program data to the Executive Director
Provide recognition and awards for participants
Encourage Birdie level youth and higher to participate in network benefits and participant opportunities
Network with other chapter colleagues, exchange and submit program best practices and submit annual program survey

Complete and remain active in The First Tee Coach Program
Coach The First Tee Life Skills Experience and administer The First Tee Certification process
Aid the Program Director in the observation of classes and provide feedback to coaches utilizing the Good-Better-How process
Aid the Program Director in reviews of coach performance on periodic basis and make recommendations on coach promotions
